Seattle gunfire leaves 4 people dead
Police hunting shooter who opened fire in cafe
Three people were killed and two wounded on Wednesday when a gunman went on a rampage and opened fire at a Seattle café, sparking a manhunt that also left officials forced to close nearby schools, authorities told.
Police also had to respond to another fatal shooting near the city’s downtown, when a man killed a woman in an apparent carjacking and fled the scene in a black SUV. The police did not know whether the two shootings were related.
Photos released showing gunman
Gunfire started late on Wednesday at Café Racer, which is a restaurant and a music venue close to the University Of Washington. Witnesses described the gunman as a man in his mid 30’s wearing dark clothes.
Two photos were released by the police, apparently taken from a security camera. One image shows a man entering the Café, with a woman sitting nearby reading a book, the other shows stools overturned and the man standing there with what appears to be a handgun in his hands.
Of the people who were shot, two men died at the scene while another woman died at a hospital.
