Poll: Americans believe the government keeps UFOs secret
A new survey has found that more than 80 million Americans believe in extra-terrestrial life. Moreover, 79 percent of Americans believe the government has kept information about UFOs a secret.
When asked by the market research company Kelton Research whether they believe aliens have visited Earth, 36 percent of respondents said they do, 48 percent weren’t sure, and only 17 percent said they don’t believe so. Over three out of four Americans (77 percent) think there are signs that suggest aliens have visited the Earth. One in 10 respondents say they have personally seen an alien spacecraft.
President Obama over Romney
Respondents were also asked which candidate for president is better suited to handle a martian invasion. The answer: President Obama.
“President Obama and his staff might have to be on high alert for an alien attack if the predictions of many Americans come to fruition. Nearly one in five (19%) think Washington, D.C., is the most likely landing zone for a UFO. And more than one in four (28%) think one would touch down in Roswell, N.M., which is certainly best known for unidentified flying objects,” pollsters said in a statement released Thursday.
Nearly two-thirds (65%) of Americans think Mr. Obama would be better suited than fellow presidential candidate Mitt Romney to handle an alien invasion. In fact, more than two in three (68%) women say thatMr. Obama would be more adept at dealing with an alien invasion than Mr. Romney.
