Hillary Clinton attacks Obama

New Romney campaign ad

The Mitt Romney campaign launched a new 30-second television ad Friday featuring footage of Hillary Clinton campaigning against Barack Obama during the 2008 Democratic presidential primary, in which she accused Obama of lying about her record.

“Shame on you, Barack Obama,” Clinton says in the footage.

The Romney ad uses the Clinton footage to back up a recent Washington Post Fact Checker item which said a recent Obama ad accusing Romney of outsourcing jobs overseas while he was governor of Massachusetts was “misleading, unfair and untrue.”

“But that’s Barack Obama,” a narrator in the Romney ad declares. “He also attacked Hillary Clinton with vicious lies.”

Ohio Primary 2008

The Clinton footage comes from a campaign event held just before the Ohio primary in 2008, when Clinton attacked Obama for mailers she said mischaracterized her positions on health care reform and the North American Free Trade Agreement.

“He continues to spend millions of dollars perpetuating falsehoods,” Clinton said at the time—footage that has been used in Romney’s latest ads to cast doubt on Obama’s claims about Romney.

Clinton, who is now Obama’s secretary of State, has not commented on the ad, and her spokesman did not respond to a request for comment.

      completely different. This isn’t the first time Obama has been accused of lying. The republicans running against Romney were just questioning his policy, not calling him a liar. This is now a second batch of evidence to portray our president as a liar which is much more damaging than just arguing policy.

        Not true. Gingrich evn had ads accusing Romney of mudslinging and lying. so it was all universal.

    Most of the news I read seems to blast Obama. Is he that bad? If we vote for Romney, will there be a real reduction in government spending? I think we need to bump up Congressman John Boehner from Ohio. And how about that Paul Ryan? Or better yet, bring back Mike Huckabee and let him run with Michelle Malkin. She’s got spunk.

    Republicans are just desperate to get into white house, so they can cook up any thing. Is normal among them and every body knows that.

      “Everybody”- so why bother to have an election – since “everybody” knows about the republicans — you indeed have keen insight into the truth

      Please….. You can’t use that argument because the Dems do it just as well. Both parties attack each other for the same gain. At the end of the day it’s a lack of moral and ethics. The way politics should work in its most natural form is for both parties to state how they plan to implement their goals and visions and the people should decide who they want. Now what’s happening is that people just vote party lines regardless of the persons accomplishments.

        That’s absolutely right! So why, oh why, are both sides spending such freakish amounts on attack ads? Election campaigns in America are insane. If you’re a Democrat, you’re going to vote for the Democratic nominee or incumbent, in this case, regardless of how much money he throws around. And it’s exactly the same for Republicans. There is so much good that could be accomplished with all these hundreds of millions of dollars. Paying down the deficit a little? Funding health care? Guarding the southern borders? Criminy!

          I totally agree! Instead all that good money is being wasted on attack ads. Politicians waste money!

      “Any thing” and “every body” don’t need a space. Nor do we need another 4 years of Obama. It doesn’t matter which democrat is in office, (s)he will be good for big government, and bad for small business. It also doesn’t matter which republican is in office… (s)he will be good for small business, and bad for big government. Which one do we need?

  6. It amazes me how the Democrats lie, lie and lie, Methinks they couldn’t lie straight in bed.
    Pres.Obana is a good orator but so was Hitler, I believe if you tell lies often enough some people will believe them, especially the poorer people who may not buy papers or have the Internet.
    As for the W.H. encouraging people to get on welfare, very clever, not generous of the Gov. but because the want dependents voting for them.
    Also it is a well known fact the Demoncrats are mainly guilty of illegal voting, no wonder they are against States checking for authentic voters.

    I believe one of the essential elements in Politics is diplomacy, we live in a world of diplomacy (including business, economy and the rest of the stuff of course). But what Mrs. Clinton speech during her campaign against Mr. Obama during he campaign for Presidency is just that and nothing else, but diplomacy. How she became U.S. State Secretary appointed by Mr.Obama was an act of diplomacy. Diplomacy in my opinion is just like offer and acceptance in business, done deal. I do not see why that could create future issues. One can be a someones foe one day and can later turn into an ally, it has been going on that way through the ages of known history, it has benefited/ or otherwise (depending upon the intention) to mankind till this day.

      Living in Europe since 2001, it is not apparent that Obama has any positive impact on the economic situation here.

      • Well said – I have lived in Europe since 1972. Right now the Euro is in deep, deep trouble. Maybe this has something to do with the “Obama impact” on the economic situation!!

    I dont understand the Obama bashing. Is he that bad? Is he any worse than the buffoon that we had for 8 years previously? We are living with the legacy of a Napolean complex moron who started 2 wars.

    Obama and his despicable staff should be ashamed of themselves for the way that they are attacking Mitt Romney. Some of these TV commercials are so nasty that I’m actually embarrassed that I’m American. Cut the viciousness, Mr Obama. Why can’t you play fair, like you’re expected to…..?

  13. To me all of this back and forth are lies by both parties. The fact of the matter is that Romney stated himself that he did not care about both blacks and poor people. I heard it myself. I could not believe I was hearing such words from a candidate for the presidency. Romney lied about his military stints. The truth is he tried his hardest to avoid military service whilst the poor were willing to serve their country and give the altimate sacrifice, their lives for defence of the country.

    The Obama Hymn of the Republic (with apologies to Julia W. Howe)

    Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
    He is named Barrack Obama and “No Comment!” is his sword;
    His disciples out in Hollywood are down upon their knees;
    His truth is marching on.
    Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
    Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on.

    He is a child of Kenya, or maybe Indonesia;
    He claims to be American, but he won’t prove it to ya;
    The American Constitution does not apply to him;
    His truths will bury all.
    Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
    Glory! Glory! Obama! His truths will bury all.

    He says he’s bringing hope to us, but gives us Hillary;
    He says he’s bringing change to us, but gives us Joseph Biden;
    He learned all his politics in the school of Blagojevich;
    And we must trust them all.
    Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Obama!
    Glory! Glory! Obama! And we must trust them all.

    Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of Barrack;
    For forty years he’s done nothing, but they love him in Iraq;
    The terrorists, the feminists, the socialists rejoice;
    For he has screwed us all.
    Glory! Glory! Obama! Glory! Glory! Obama!
    Glory! Glory! Obama! For he has screwed us all.
